Fertility Support: Preconception Planning

Acupuncture for Preconception Planning

Fertility Support: Preconception Planning - Acupuncture for Preconception PlanningDid you know that it takes approximately 120 days for an egg and 90 days for sperm to develop to full maturity?  If you are trying to conceive now, you are using eggs and sperm that have been created 3-4 months ago – how was your health then?

Preconception planning is an important step that is often overlooked.  The aim of Chinese Medicine pre-conception care is to promote optimal gynecological health in preparation for pregnancy. It is designed to get a woman’s body in the best possible position to become pregnant, stay pregnant and nourish a baby for the entire pregnancy and beyond.

Preconception Care Program

Our preconception care program is a step-by-step protocol designed specifically for you. Along with acupuncture and herbal medicine, your pre-conception care plan may involve a combination of charting your cycles, reducing exposure to toxins, optimizing nutrition, improving sperm quality and production, and other minor lifestyle modifications.

Acupuncture is recommended weekly for 12 weeks prior to anticipated date of conception or beginning any ART, assisted reproductive technology. Three months of Preconception Care ensures your body is in the most receptive state possible to conceive and go on to birth a healthy baby.

Preconception Care is recommended for natural fertility and *highly recommended* for couples who plan to undergo assisted reproductive technology, including IUI and IVF cycles.
